Ok, this is a great song, reminds me of Hope to Carry On. This requires a
fast strum, which means that a thin pick is ideal.
You'll have to listen to the CD to get the exact strum (really?) , but what
he mostly does on the D's and A's is he'll strum down on the major strum and
then lift the fingers on his left hand up slightly from the strings to where
it sounds almost like mute. Then (On the "D" chord) he's also pulling off
the finger from the high "e" string on the second fret (more than likely
your middle finger) off and on some. When he goes to the "A" chord, he does
the same thing. Thus we have "D" mixed with "Dsus2," or "D2" and "A" mixed
with "Asus2," or "A2." That's enough quotations for now.
However, when you get to the chorus you can do a regular strum with no
sustained chords or anything
In my Father's house there are many, many rooms
In my Father's house there are many, many rooms
And I'm going up there now to prepare a place for you
That where I am, there you may also be
If I go prepare a place for you
I will come back again (x2)
And you know I am the Way, the Truth, the Life, keep my commands
That where I am, there you may also be
That where I am, there you may also be
Up where the truth, the truth will set you free
In the world you will have trouble, but I leave you my peace
That where I am, there you may also be
Remember you did not choose me
No I have chosen you (x2)
The world will show you hatred, the Spirit show you truth
That where I am, there you may also be
And I've come down from the Father
It's time for me to go back up (x2)
One command I leave you: Love as I have loved
That where I am, there you may also be
