A FATHER'S LOVE
By Bill Crockett
from the CD The Basic Stuff
C Em7 Am Am/G
When the curtain calls the evening to an ending
Dm Dm/C Bb F/A G/F
when the music and the rhymes are packed away
Em Am Em7 F G
and you are gone and night has come
C Em7 Am Am/G
when the morning calls us back into the city
Dm Dm/C Bb F/A G
and the magic of tonight has dissappeared
G/F C/E F C/G G7 C
there will always be a father's love
C Em7 Am Am/G
when the circle of our love has to be broken
Dm Dm/C Bb F/A G/F
and the roses that we gave have turned to grey
Em Am Em7 F G
and you and I say good-bye
C Em7 Am Am/G
if the leaving sinks your heart into December
Dm Dm/C Bb F/A G
and tommorow finds you lonely and afraid
G/F C/E F C/G G7 C Gx4
there will always be a father's love.
Am Am F C/e
Don't fear the darkness around you now
Am D/F# G G/F
and don't wish the nighttime away
C/E F C/G G
'cause it is there you'll find a father
G/F C/E F C/G G
if you ever need a father
G/F C/E F C/G G F
there will always be a father's love
G/B C/E F/A C/G G7sus G7 C
