It Ain't No Sin
by Don Francisco
Key of C
(ONLY PARTIAL CHORDS - IN PROCESS)
(Narrative) Have you ever walked up, you know, at church and say "Hey
Joe,
how you doing?" He says "Oh bless God, Brother, isn't God good?
Halleluia "
And you just go "Huh?" You know, what's that person really thinking,
what's
he really feeling? And you're not really sure. There seems to be this
unwritten rule that if you're a Christian, that everything is fine, all
the
time, Fine. And it's not always like that. You see, the Lord doesn't
want
us to be tough because then we can't feel. We can't feel the hurts that
other people feel. But when we're hurt He wants us to come to Him so He
can heal us. Don't be ashamed about being hurt and needing to be
healed.
Cause it ain't no sin to get the blues.

Now some people, when you walk up and talk to em,
C A
They wear this manufactured smile.

You can't tell if they're really happy
C G7
Or just trying to be in style.
C B7
You know it's like, it's like somebody told em

Only sinners never frown.
F
Hey, but when you're really hurting,
G7 C F C G7
It ain't no crime for feeling down.
Now obedience, that means sufferin,
And to some that may be news.
Jesus paid our lifetime membership, yes He did,
But you still gotta pay some dues.
So when all Job's comforters are standin around you
And your prayers just seem refused.
Don't you lie about your troubles, don't you do it,
It ain't no sin to get the blues.
Now some folks they really dig self-pity,
But others make it clear
That if it were possible they'd rewrite the epistles and the gospels
So that nobody, nobody, nobody ever had to shed a tear.
But everybody got to suffer sometime,
We all gotta work out our salvation on our own.
Jesus never told ya that pain would never get ahold a you,
He said "I'll never leave you, never leave you alone."
So when you feel those tears start rollin,
Don't you go and get yourself all confused,
Cause He'll dry those tears if you just go ahead and cry em,
It ain't no sin to get the blues.
Now if you say you're doing fine, say there ain't nothing on your mind,
Denounce it and deny it.
Don't stick your head down in the sand, trying to make out like you're
some kind of superman,
But ain't nobody, nobody, nobody really gonna buy it.
Cause everybody's got to suffer sometime,
we (all gotta) (4X) work out our salvation on our own.
He'll dry those tears if you just go ahead and cry em,
It ain't no sin to get the blues.
