Its Alright

Preview (partial song; no chords displayed)

but I learned to play it this way. The words and chords in
parentheses are stuff that my college group does when we sing
it. I don't think they're in the actual song... Enjoy, and
God bless!
It's Alright -- by the Basics
(Written by Tom Lillo)

D A (D)
Walking through the valley, all my troubles close at hand,
Bm G D A
I am just a pilgrim searching for the promised land
D A (D)
Devil's on my tail, you know he's dogged me all the way
Bm G A D
every time I lose him he comes back another day... (but...)
D G (step down bass notes)

Em A G D
You know I'm bound for glory, and it's alright (repeat)
D A (D)
Wandering through the desert, it seems like forty years,
Bm G A D
Don't know where I'm going but when I started it was clear
D A (D)
Sun beats down on upon me, hot sand burns my feet (yeowch!)
Bm G A D
Without that Living Water I would perish from the heat...

A G D

A F#m G D
seems I've journeyed so far, but there's so far left to go
A G D
When I lose the heart to try, when I slip and fall
A F#m G A
Still I hear that gentle voice, still I hear that call...
(...sayin' to me...)
