Never Gonna Be As Big Jesus
By Audio Adrenaline
(c) 1996 Up In The Mix Music
from Steve Kudaka (lkudaka@digistar.mb.ca)
Most of this should be pretty close to how it was recorded on the album.
This tab does not show the exact order of the guitar parts, but has nearly
all of material except maybe a single riff here and there. The solo might
need a little work but that's basically the way it goes.
The guitar is tuned normal but a whole step down.
I really like this song, and if you don't have the album, get it.
riff #1:
---------------------------
---------------------------
-----9-----------9---11-9--
-----9-----------9---11-9-- repeat 6 times. (this part is common in the
song)
9h11--------9h11-----------
---------------------------
easy power chord repeated:
"just like James Dean...."
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
14---14-14-14-----14-14-----14---14-14-14-----14-14-----
14---14-14-14-----14-14-----14---14-14-14-----14-14-----
12---12-12-12-----12-12-----12---12-12-12-----12-12-----
--------------------------------------------------------
riff #1 plays for a while again then:
"I could learn to sing and dance, if I only had a chance"
--------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------------------------------
14---14-14-14-----14-14-----14---14-14-14-----14-14-----
14---14-14-14-----14-14-----14---14-14-14-----14-14-----
12---12-12-12-----12-12-----12---12-12-12-----12-12-----
--------------------------------------------------------
repeat above once:
followed by:
-----------------------------------------
-----------------------------------------
11---11-11-11-----11-14---14-14-14-----14
11---11-11-11-----11-14---14-14-14-----14
9----9--9--9------9--12---12-12-12-----12
-----------------------------------------
followed by riff #1:
later in the song you come across a section that goes like this:
--------------------------
--------------------------
--------------------------
7---9---11---13---14\-----
7---9---11---13---14\-----
5---7---9----11---12\-----
then followed by:
-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------
7-7\2---------------2-2/7------------------
7-7\2---------------2-2/7------------------
5-5\0---------------0-0/5------------------
another part that comes in someplace:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
--------------------------------
13---13-13-13-----13-13-----11---11-11-11-----11-11-----11---11-11-11-----11-1
1---
13---13-13-13-----13-13-----11---11-11-11-----11-11-----11---11-11-11-----11-1
1---
11---11-11-11-----11-11-----9----9--9--9------9--9------9----9--9--9------9--9
------------
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------------------------------
--------------------
--------------------
9---9-9-9-----9-9---
9---9-9-9-----9-9---
7---7-7-7-----7-7---
--------------------
that's about it for the easy stuff. I like this solo, and it's fun and
fairly easy to
play.
t= trill
b= bend
p= pull
h= hammer
main solo:
-----------------------------------------------------
9-12-9---9-------------------------------------------
------11---11-9-11-9---9-----------------------------
